Regal Begin Production!
over 5 years ago – Thu, Oct 04, 2018 at 01:55:43 AM

Greetings Delvers!

I am excited to share these photos with you. Regal (NZ) has begun production, so there will be a heavy box of metal miniatures on it's way to me shortly. It also means the metal masters will be flying to Macrocosm (UK) and Effin Cool Miniatures (US) this week.

For backers from New Zealand and Australia who pledged for metal miniatures, this may allow earlier shipping dates (perhaps by mid-October). For everyone else, this keeps us on schedule for shipping early November. For some of you, they may arrive in time to enter the Brushes of Doom Painting Competition!

This is an exciting time for me as my humble creations are cast in metal. I can't wait for them to be delivered for you to enjoy!

I have done my best with the Law Vs Chaos range to capture the feeling I had when I chose a miniature for my favourite character, back when I began collecting figurines in my early teens. My hope is that they give you that same feeling, or something close to it. Whether it's just one or two, or the whole set, may they continue their adventures on your gaming table.

Enjoy you gaming!

Last of the Backer Surveys...
over 5 years ago – Tue, Oct 02, 2018 at 10:40:04 PM

Greetings Delvers,

I hope you are having a great week. The last of the Backer Surveys are rolling in. Yes, they were all due a couple of days ago but there will always be stragglers. Even when you allow a month to fill out the survey...

So today I have been manually filling out the surveys for backers who pledged as a Watcher and those whose shipping details I have recorded from previous Kickstarters. It’s  a thankless task but it means that the production can go ahead.

Leah is ready to track down the missing backer surveys...

I really want everyone to get their miniatures, so if you are one of the final backers who are tarrying, I urge you to fill out your survey here: https://starhatminiatures.backerkit.com

In other news, all the metal masters are now finished and Ian Farley at Regal (NZ) is planning to make the production moulds (for New Zealand and Australia) tomorrow. The giants and doors of doom are with John Popson at Effin Cool (US) and he will be making moulds next week after a trip to visit friends Ernie Gygax and Jim Ward.

I am happy to see the giants and dragon have been popular in the pledge manager. I am glad I have been able to share these miniatures with you.

Enjoy your gaming,

Darcy Perry

Pledge Lockdown This Weekend!
over 5 years ago – Thu, Sep 27, 2018 at 02:17:48 PM

Greetings Delvers!

I will be locking down your pledges this weekend. 69% of you have completed your BackerKit survey. We still have 31 more backers to go. Let's do it! 💪

What happens after the pledge lockdown? Your funds will be released to my bank account so I can pay for production to begin!

In October these miniatures will be cast in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. All going to schedule, we will be shipping your pledges by November!

An important note about Anton Ducrot's giants... they are Kickstarter Exclusive, which means they will not be available for sale after this Kickstarter. This is your one and only chance to get these amazing miniatures.

Last Chance to Get Milton, Cecil (with Basil) and Kongeegenan.

Remember, the I Want It All pledge includes the full set of 16 Law Vs Chaos miniatures, Milton, Cecil (with Basil) and Kongeegenan, along with Gary Hunt's fantastic Black Dragon and the Double Doors of Doom!

So, enjoy your gaming this weekend and if you haven't already, please fill out your backer survey.

Blessings,

Kickstarter Launch: Hagglethorn Hollow
over 5 years ago – Thu, Sep 27, 2018 at 11:00:37 AM

Greetings Delvers!

It may have been something you are following already but I thought I should mention a project begun here in New Zealand that has just launched on Kickstarter. Hagglethorn Hollow is the lovingly designed, sculpted by hand, terrain set by Johnny Fraser-Allen.

In the video above (shot by Steve Unwin), Adam Savage talks with Johnny about the full project but for the moment, the Labyrinth and Buildings that are on offer. All of it is modular, and can be mixed and matched in an incredibly organic way.

Because Johnny also works for Weta, it has a real film-set model level of detail. I can't wait to have Hagglethorn Hollow on my gaming table! He talks more about his background here in an interview with Beasts of War:

So what are you waiting for? Go check it out!

Blessings,

Metal Masters from Regal Toy Soldiers!
over 5 years ago – Sat, Sep 22, 2018 at 03:58:46 PM

Greetings Delvers!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I have some photos to share from Ian and Allan at Regal. Feast your eyes upon this glorious metal host!

But wait, there's more...

Metal Masters: Edwina, Nika and Nanook!

 Finally...

Metal Masters: Skullsword and Brodo!

It's shaping up to be a big week as these metal masters will be cleaned up and sent to Macrocosm (UK) and Effin Cool (US) to make production moulds, while spin casting begins here in New Zealand.

Regal Toy Soldiers

I have just realised I haven't introduced you to the brothers Farley! Ian and Allan have been casting toy soldiers since 1982 and they started their own business, Regal Toy Soldiers, in 1992.

Their main business is casting and painting their own traditional toy soldier range (over 150 sets) of "history you can hold in your hand", covering the New Zealand Land Wars, American Civil War and an even greater variety of periods from the Romans and Celts, to Egypt and Sudan, the Boxer Rebellion and the two World Wars to name just a few.

I am very fortunate that Gary Hunt and Anton Ducrot pointed me in their direction when I started out a couple of years ago with my first Delvers Lost in the Dungeons of Doom Kickstarter. Ian and Allan really are New Zealand's masters of metal!

Speaking of Gary, there are only five days left to grab his Black Dragon, Borranix, as part of your pledge.

Thank you for your encouragement and support. Right, it's time for me to take the dog for a run!

Blessings,
