over 5 years ago – Fri, Sep 07, 2018 at 02:43:21 PM

Greetings Delvers!

Some exciting news from Wolf Wizard! Instead of a single song, they are offering us an entire album download! How cool is that!?

I sat down for a chat (and a jam) with Sandy yesterday and he offered the full Wolf Wizard album, Cursed, as a gift - so, instead of the single Mystic Voyage, you get the whole shebang!

Double Doors of Doom: A Mermaids Tale?
over 5 years ago – Thu, Sep 06, 2018 at 02:04:08 PM

Greetings Delvers!

For those who were wondering what the back of the doors looked like....

So, where do these ideas come from? How does a mermaid fit into the Dungeons of Doom underworld and the Star Hat Universe? Well, I could tell you...

...but why do your imagining for you?

Seriously though, I often let the putty do the storytelling, as I sculpt. Sometimes I am surprised by the results! There is definitely a Polynesian feel to this piece. The broken pearl necklace was a last moment addition which brought a big smile to my dial.

Now it’s off to John Popson (Effin Cool, US),  then Chris Nicholls (Macrocosm, UK), for mould making and casting in resin.

I am not sure I could be having more fun than I am right now. Thanks for backing Law Vs Chaos!

Blessings,

Darcy Perry

Quack Keep and The Dragon's Secret on DriveThruRPG
over 5 years ago – Fri, Aug 31, 2018 at 03:59:33 PM

Greetings Delvers!

After an intense final few days of Kickstarter madness, I enjoyed an early night and a sleep in this morning! Law Vs Chaos has funded and pre-orders are now available through BackerKit for those who missed the campaign. Spread the word!

Quack Keep and The Dragon's Secret on DriveThruRPG

Quack Keep available on DriveThruRPG
Quack Keep available on DriveThruRPG

If you haven't heard, the most amazing duck setting ever is available on DriveThruRPG. 48 pages of endless adventure in Reedy Bend. It's fantastically Old School, with a duck-dragon and a squid-spaceship! In (probably) her final update on Quack Keep, Jennell Jaquays shared her gratitude for the backers that made it all come about:

"Quack Keep from DriveThruRPG reached my hands today, and after a quick page through, it meets my approval. That means the print and PDF versions for Quack Keep and The Dragon's Secret are now up on on DriveThruRPG (and RPGNow) for purchase (or download if you are a backer and those were included in your premiums).

I somehow missed a penultimate post and went straight to final. It's been a fun campaign and I not only enjoyed creating for you, and with Darcy, but I learned a LOT about print on demand publishing (and maybe a bit about making miniatures too). Thank you all for that!

I'm onto next projects, which include more adventures and campaign settings for my own Fifth Wall brand (but with perhaps, fewer ducks and waterfowl... there will likely always be SOME in my adventures from here on out) and I'd be fibbing a bit if I said that Reedy Bend WASN'T a part of my Thousand Worlds campaign setting, because how could it not be? Hope to see you all again in future projects." Jennell Jaquays

I can only agree with Jennell. Once you go "Quack", you never go back. Artorius and the Fowlbear miniatures from the Law Vs Chaos campaign are both a testament to this. So please check it out and share it with your friends!

Blessings,

Darcy Perry

Successfully Funded with 102 Backers! Thank You!
over 5 years ago – Fri, Aug 31, 2018 at 01:17:10 AM

Greetings Delvers,

We Did It! As Grant Stone said, "Dragon coming in at the last moments... Very George RR Martin." I couldn't agree more! Borranix will be available in the pledge manager for backers who missed the opportunity to grab him in the last moments.

So, what happens now?

Right, if you backed this Kickstarter campaign, you will have received an email saying your funds are being collected (or have been already?) and you will be waiting patiently for the Backer Survey which I will send out in a few weeks - when I receive the funds from Kickstarter. For some reason, from previous experience, this takes exactly 3 weeks.

In the meantime, I will be getting these original greens off to the casters so they can prepare for production in New Zealand, England and America. I will also be preparing the Backer Survey for you and answering any questions you have.

BackerKit?

BackerKit makes it easier for me to manage your pledge rewards, from surveys to shipping. It also allows me to have a pre-order store for folks who missed out on this Kickstarter.

Late to the Battle? Pre-orders Available on BackerKit!
Late to the Battle? Pre-orders Available on BackerKit!

Do you know someone who didn't back Law Vs Chaos and really wants to get these metal miniatures, resin figurines or maybe even the Double Doors of Doom!? Well, you can send them to starhatminiatures.backerkit.com and they can go shopping.

Remember, if you're already a Law Vs Chaos Kickstarter backer, you can make any changes you need to on the Backer Survey which I will send out in a few weeks.

I cannot thank the contributors to this campaign enough - but I will try in the next update! Also, to every backer, thanks for your support and encouragement. None of this could happen without your generous pledges!

Thank you!

...and yes, I will be getting some rest this weekend!

Blessings,

The Black Dragon UNLEASHED... Introducing Gary Hunt!
over 5 years ago – Thu, Aug 30, 2018 at 04:36:54 PM

Greetings Delvers,

With a few hours to go we Unleash The Black Dragon, and I thought it's about time to introduce Gary Hunt!

Gary Hunt, Beestman!
Gary Hunt, Beestman!

Gary Hunt began his sculpting career as a young man, making adjustments (conversions) to miniatures he bought or earned working at his father's shop. I think it's worth noting that he also contacted companies like Grenadier with his early sculpts, asking for work! This lad had a dream!

A few years (and many adventures) later, Gary ended up in New Zealand, sculpting for a little known Kiwi company called Weta (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Ghost in the Shell, Thor Ragnarok, etc.) by day and his own fantastic creations (Fantasy Warr/Beestwars) by night.

A special gift for this campaign from Gary Hunt, Borranix The Black Dragon was sculpted traditionally using modeling putty, a pointy stick and a scalpel. Another fine example of the art of sculpting, available during this Kickstarter in glorious metal at a special Law Vs Chaos price! Only NZ$55 as an add-on!

Currently Gary has working on a new boardgame from Weta Workshop for the cult classic District 9...

I would like to thank Gary Hunt for being part of Law Vs Chaos - and for waiting patiently for us to Unleash Borranix! So, what are you waiting for? Increase your pledge now! :)

Blessings,
